2023 Lustria Pinot Noir
Eola-Amity Hills
Vineyard:
The vineyards for Lustria’s 2023 Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir lie at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, where cooling Pacific Ocean breezes and mineral-rich volcanic soils allow the grapes to reach full ripeness while maintaining bright acidity. This natural balance yields a wine with refined flavors, a smooth texture, and vibrant minerality.
2023 Vintage Notes:
A cool spring gave the valley a late start, but a warm, sunny summer and a mostly dry fall with cool evenings led to fully ripened grapes while preserving their freshness.
Winemaking:
Hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes arrive at the winery in the early morning, ensuring peak freshness. They are 100% de-stemmed before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel, where they are gently punched down by hand daily to ensure optimal extraction and depth. The wine is then transferred to a mix of new and neutral French oak barrels, aging for 11 months. Finally, it is bottled with minimal filtration to preserve its purity and character.
Tasting Notes:
Bursting with red and blue fruits and spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and sassafrass, the 2023 Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir is juicy and silky on the palette with smooth, velvety tannins on the finish.
Alcohol: 14.3%
